Your Voice Matters: Parent Advisory Committee

At Kalamazoo Child and Family Counseling, we believe that the best way to support children and families is to truly listen to those with lived experience. That’s why we’re inviting parents and caregivers like you to help shape the future of our services by joining our Parent Advisory Committee.

Why Join?

Our Parent Advisory Committee is a group of dedicated family members who:

  • Share insights about what works—and what doesn’t—for families navigating mental health care

  • Help improve programs, services, and communication

  • Support new initiatives with feedback grounded in real life experience

  • Build a stronger, more responsive system for children and families in our community

Whether you’ve faced challenges, found success, or just want to give back, your voice can make a difference.

What to Expect

  • Meetings are held semi-monthly or quarterly.

  • Members receive orientation, training, and support

  • Participation is voluntary.

  • Your story and perspective are valued—we’re here to grow together

Who Should Apply?

We welcome all caregivers, including:

  • Biological, adoptive, and foster parents

  • Grandparents, kinship caregivers, and guardians

  • Caregivers from diverse backgrounds and experiences

  • Individuals with a passion for advocacy, healing, and helping others

You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to share, learn, and help improve care for children and families.
