Hannah Joseph, LLMSW-C, MT-BC is a clinical social worker and board-certified music therapist. She has experience providing therapeutic support to children and teens struggling with depression, anxiety, behavioral challenges, suicidal ideation, and post-traumatic stress. Hannah specializes in using a strengths-based approach to help children and teens express emotions and develop coping skills to manage life’s challenges. Hannah is trained in several evidence-based practices, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Hannah is also on the DBT team at KCFC.
As a board-certified music therapist, Hannah recognizes how music can be used to encourage expression, communication, and understanding of ourselves and others. Music therapy is the evidence-based use of music in a therapeutic environment to help those experiencing challenges. Hannah combines music therapy with traditional therapeutic approaches to help children and families address these challenges through the healing potential of music. Children and families do not need a musical background to enjoy and benefit from music therapy services.
Hannah received her bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University and her master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago with a specialization in Children and Families.
