Mickey McMahon, LLMSW-C
Mickey McMahon provides child and family therapy to children, teens, and families in the Kalamazoo area, helping clients who are struggling with emotional dysregulation, trauma, ADHD, and neurodivergence. He believes in a team-based approach to a child’s well-being and works collaboratively and creatively with both children and caregivers to help families reach their goals.
Mickey brings a warm, playful, and supportive approach to therapy. They strive to help clients feel welcome, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.
Mickey earned his Master of Social Work from Western Michigan University, with specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Across the Lifespan. He has previously worked with teenagers in the foster care system and college students with autism spectrum disorder, and he brings a strong background in disability studies to his clinical work.
Mickey has experience using evidence-based approaches including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with clients across a wide range of ages.
